Uno is a simple game that can allow for genuine conversation while playing. As with all other Intentional Activities, turn off your phone or sit it in another room. Be present and in the moment! The games don't last long but they can be fun and get heated. Make sure you are representing how you would like your child to act when they win or lose. They are always watching and learning!
The game can also be used as a learning tool for younger children! The listing says Uno is for ages 7 & up, but we have recently been playing with my 4 year old son. Uno is great for number recognition, for learning colors, but primarily for following directions/instructions. For a young kid it can be difficult to identify the numbers and colors their hand, then understanding what they are able to play based on the current card. Because of this, we normally play with our cards all facing up and explain each move. We play game after game and love watching his confidence grow!
